PIGs and PIGLETs are made of tool steel and may acquire some surface rust. The original tools have a gun metal finish and more recently made tools have an oxide finish to help reduce the amount of surface rust your tool will acquire.
In order to keep your tool in the best possible shape and looking great, we recommend heads with the gun metal finish have a periodic buffing with a scour pad, steel wool, or wire brush.
We recommend coating the heads of PIGs and PIGLETS with both the gun metal finish and the oxide finish (black color) with FrogLube (R). Carnuba wax, WD-40(R), or Penetrol(R) to help prevent surface rust.
